Resumen
En este estudio se evaluaron las propiedades fitoquímicas, antioxidantes, antiinflamatorias y antiartríticas de un extracto hexánico de semillas de Papaver somniferum L. Se realizaron análisis fitoquímicos cualitativos y cuantitativos, incluyendo ensayos espectrofotométricos para determinar el contenido de compuestos fenólicos totales, flavonoides, taninos y antocianinas. La actividad antioxidante se evaluó mediante los métodos DPPH, ABTS y FRAP, arrojando valores de 12.40 mg TE/g DW, 82.48 % de inhibición y 2.95 mg TE/g DW, respectivamente. Se aplicaron modelos in vitro para determinar la actividad antiinflamatoria (estabilización de membranas eritrocitarias) y antiartrítica (inhibición de la desnaturalización de proteínas), en los cuales se observó una inhibición superior al 80 %. El análisis FT-IR confirmó la presencia de grupos funcionales característicos de metabolitos lipofílicos. A pesar de las limitaciones del hexano como solvente para compuestos polares, los resultados sugieren que la fracción hexánica conserva bioactividad significativa atribuible a metabolitos secundarios lipofílicos. Estos hallazgos respaldan el potencial terapéutico de extractos no polares de Papaver somniferum L y motivan su estudio adicional mediante técnicas avanzadas de caracterización.
