Resumen
El frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) es un cultivo de relevancia alimentaria y económica en México y particularmente en el estado de Sinaloa, con una producción aproximada de 172,238.91 t. Sin embargo, su producción se ve limitada por enfermedades como el moho blanco, ocasionado por Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, patógeno que puede provocar pérdidas significativas de hasta 30-50 % bajo condiciones ambientales favorables. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la sensibilidad in vitro de 16 aislados de Sclerotinia sclerotiorum al fungicida metil tiofanato. Los aislados fueron obtenidos en zonas productoras de frijol de los municipios de Ahome y Guasave, Sinaloa, y se evaluaron mediante bioensayos de crecimiento micelial en medio papa dextrosa agar suplementado con concentraciones de 0.05 a 7.5 µg·mL⁻¹ del ingrediente activo. Los resultados evidenciaron una respuesta diferencial entre aislados; a 2.5 µg·mL⁻¹, el crecimiento micelial relativo promedio se redujo a aproximadamente 49 %. Algunos aislados presentaron inhibición total del crecimiento (100 %), mientras que otros mantuvieron desarrollo micelial incluso en las concentraciones más altas evaluadas. El análisis estadístico mostró diferencias significativas entre el tratamiento control y las concentraciones más altas del fungicida (p ≤ 0.05). Esta variabilidad sugiere posibles diferencias fenotípicas asociadas a variaciones en la sensibilidad al fungicida. En conclusión, aunque el metil tiofanato evidenció efectividad in vitro, la presencia de aislados con menor sensibilidad resalta la necesidad de estrategias de manejo integrado que incluyan rotación de modos de acción y monitoreo constante de sensibilidad para fortalecer la sostenibilidad del cultivo en regiones productoras de frijol.
