Peer Review Process

Every paper will be reviewed by members of the Council of Editors, and once the paper is considered pertinent, it will be reviewed through a double blind revision process (anonymity of technical copy editors and authors of the article) by at least two specialists in the area the article corresponds. This academic pairs must be from an institution other than the institution where the article originated.

In the case that the pronouncements of the specialists are contradictory, the article will be submitted to the Council of Editors, or an additional evaluation will be requested.

The decision can be: Accepted, Conditioned or Rejected.

The pronouncement will be communicated in writing only to the corresponding author, in a term no longer than three months from the original reception date.

Once the pronouncement of the article is given to the corresponding author, the latter must respond to the editorial committee in the stablished term in each case. Otherwise, the article will be automatically rejected.

 

Open Access Policy

This Journal gives immediate open access to its content under the principle of making investigation available to the public, which foments a major exchange of global knowledge.

Journal History

Revista Bio Ciencias started in the year 2010 as an eletronic and scientific publication of semestral regularity, arbitrarized and indexed that emerged from the postgrade of the Biological, Agricultural and Fishing Sciences Faculty of the Universidad Autonoma de Nayarit (UAN).

Ever since, it spreads scientific information related to biological, agricultural, livestock and fishing sciences, in format of original and review researches, editorials, brief articles, news and letters to the editor.

Currently, Revista Bio Ciencias is incorporated to specialized international indexes and arbitrarized, since all papers published are reviewed by academic specialized peers in the corresponding area.

Hence, Revista Bio Ciencias aims to spread technical quality information in the Biological and Agricultural Areas, as well as promoting a reflection space of the current paradigms and tendencies in biological sciences, all said from disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplnary approaches. It is its Mission to be a space that expresses sicentific information to promote investigation, reflection and discussion in topics related to biological and agricultural sciences. On the other hand, its Vision is to be a leader space that promotes the dissemination of quality scientific information at local, national and international levels.
