Peer Review Process
Each article will be reviewed by members of the Editorial Board, and once deemed relevant, it will be subject to a double-blind peer review process (anonymity of technical reviewers and authors of the article) by at least two specialists in the area to which the article belongs. These academic peers must be from an institution other than the institution(s) of origin of the article.
If the experts' opinions are contradictory, the article will be submitted to the Editorial Board, or an additional review will be requested.
The decision may be: Accepted, Conditional or Rejected.
The opinion will be communicated in writing exclusively to the corresponding author, within a period of no more than three months from the date of receipt of the original.
Once the corresponding author receives the review of the article, they must respond to the editorial committee within the specified deadline. Otherwise, the article will be automatically rejected.
Open access policy
This journal offers immediate open access to its content based on the principle of making research freely available to the public, thereby promoting a broader global exchange of knowledge.

History of the Journal
Revista Bio Ciencias began in 2010 as a semiannual, peer-reviewed, indexed, scientific electronic publication within the postgraduate program of the Agricultural, Biological, and Fisheries Sciences Area of the Autonomous University of Nayarit (UAN).
Since then, it has disseminated scientific information in the fields of biological, agricultural, livestock, and fisheries sciences through original research, reviews, editorials, short articles, news, and letters to the editor.
Currently, the Revista Bio Ciencias is included in various international specialized indexes, making it an indexed and peer-reviewed journal, as all documents published in it are reviewed by academic peers specialized in the corresponding field.
In this way, Revista Bio Ciencias aims to disseminate high-quality technical information in the biological and agricultural fields and to foster reflection on current paradigms and trends in the biological sciences from disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary perspectives. Its mission is to serve as a space for communicating scientific information and promoting research, reflection, and discussion on topics related to the biological and agricultural sciences. Its vision is to be a leading space that promotes the dissemination of quality scientific information at the local, national, and international levels.
