Resumen

Vachellia farnesiana (L.) Willd. es un arbusto espinoso de hasta 3 m de alto; suele ser abundante en la vegetación secundaria derivada del bosque tropical caducifolio, matorrales, encinares y pastizales. En México, los estudios que evalúan las comunidades de líquenes epifitos se han llevado a cabo en su mayoría en bosques templados y sobre forofitos de Alnus y Quercus. En zonas secas los registros son escasos, y aún más escasos en forofitos de V. farnesiana; de aquí la importancia de reconocer a la comunidad de líquenes epífitos que tiene asociados. Para cumplir con este objetivo, se hizo un muestreo oportunista no cuantitativo en 15 forofitos en los cuales la presencia de líquenes fue evidente. Se registró un total de 10 familias, 22 géneros y 49 especies de hongos liquenizados. Se reportan ocho especies como registros nuevos para Oaxaca: Candelaria fibrosa, Candelariella vitellina, Lecanora fulvastra, Heterodermia diademata, Hyperphyscia syncolla, Phaeophyscia culbersonii, Physcia aipolia y Ramalina aspera. Los resultados indican que V. farnesiana es un forofito que puede albergar una alta riqueza de líquenes epifitos aún en ambientes fragmentados.
