Abstract
Researchers from the Universidad Autonoma de Nayarit, through a review article, analyze the effect of potassium in tropical fruits, concluding that potassium fertilization, overall, increases quality, yields and size of fruits. In this number, an article from UNAM researchers in collaboration with researchers of the University of Chapingo who evaluated the germination of seeds of “jiotilla” (Escontria chiotilla), an endemic species from Southern Mexico, with ecological and regional gastronomy importance, is issued. In the article, it us shown how weight and storage time of the seed significantly influence in maturation of the fruit.
